Kindergarten:
Language Arts: Reading and writing letters b, l, r, o, k, f, M, D, G, I, S, H, B
Writing: Writing sentences with high frequency words, writing an opinion.
Math: Explore 2D (flat) and 3D (solid) shapes. Compare objects by length and height. Use words like longer, shorter, taller, and smaller. Prepositions such as above, below, next to, and behind to describe where objects are located.
Science: Make observations to explore how sunlight warms the Earth’s surface.
1st grade:
Language Arts: initial and final s, r, l, blends and r controlled vowels
Math: Adding three addends, make a 10 strategy to add to make teen numbers
Science: Moon and stars
2nd grade:
Math- addition and subtraction with regrouping
ELA- fables, narrative non-fictions, and poetry
Science- states of matter
Phonics- vowel teams, reading fluency
3rd Grade:
Writing: Persuasive writing
Science: Force and motion
Social Studies: Cultural geography
ELA: Informational texts: main idea and details
Math: Multiplication and division strategies of numbers 6-9.
4th Grade:
Language Arts: Central Ideas, captions, headings, prefixes, figurative language, hyperboles, dramas, theme, antonyms, opinion writing
Math: Long Division and 2 digit by 2 digit multiplication
Science: Energy Transfers, collisions, and gravitational energy using rube goldberg machines
Social Studies: Five Tribes of Utah
5th grade:
Math: multiplying and dividing decimals, multi-digit multiplication and division
Science: earth hydrosphere, biosphere, agriculture
Language arts: argumentative writing, compare and contrast two characters and/or setting in a text as well as comparing similar texts in the same genre
6th grade:
LA - context clues, text structure, argumentative writing
Math - division, dividing fractions, dividing with decimals, DIVISION 🙂
Science - energy transfer, mass, density, phase changes, elements, states of matter
